As-sallam Alaykum Warahmatullah Wabarakatuh,
I hope this mail meets you in a state of tranquillity. If it doesn’t, I hope you take a few breaths as you read this. You are getting this message because you are a bonafide member of the Beyond the Stereotypes community. You’ve stuck with us through thick and thin.
The Skilled Muslimah is a safe space where we hope to connect with you and share in your joy, struggles and achievements as a Muslimah moving beyond the stereotypes set for you. In sha Allah, we will make you feel less alone by creating weekly content you will find relatable and resourceful.
The year 2021 seems to be moving at a faster pace and scientists believe this as a fact. In between preparing for the hereafter, hustling while exuding beauty, schooling(don’t get me started with online classes at some universities!), volunteering, healthy eating, keeping fit, and every other activity, there seems to be no time left to catch your breath and relax. There is always something to do, a goal to achieve. One thing I have come to realise is that irrespective of our struggles, the sun will rise and set. 24 hours line up, tick tock tick. These are facts we both know are true but we sometimes get caught up in the race.
I am here to nudge you to catch your breath. Take a moment to process your emotions. How are you doing, really? What do you need to show up as your true self? As you go into the new week, I hope you schedule some minutes or hours for yourself. Just you and whatever you need to relax. Take care of yourself and remember that Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. May He ease our affairs.
With love and good vibes,
Umaynah
